Beaverhead River Fly Fishing Report

Madison River Fly Fishing Report

Madison River was excellent for nymphing in the morning and pretty much shut down after 2 pm. San Juan Worms size 10’s and Red Copper John’s size 14’s worked well. We are crossing our fingers that the overcast skies and rain today will help improve afternoon fishing.

Jefferson River Fly Fishing Report

Jefferson River is on Hoot Owl fish restrictions and water level is low. Over cast skies, a little rain today will hopefully help that situation. Stay tuned.

Big Hole River Fly Fishing Report

Cooler mornings allow for great fishing on the Big Hole. Fish are tight to the banks and taking Spruce Moths #18, Trico Spinners #20, and a nymph about two feet down from a Hopper #10; we used Pearl Lightning Bugs.

Beaverhead River Fly Fishing Report

The Beaverhead River is fishing great in the morning and cloud cover and cooler temperatures will surely improve fishing results in the afternoon. Flies we have good results with are: Sun-kissed #18, Barr’s Emerger #18, and Caddis Emerger # 18.

Big Hole River Fly Fishing Report

Large Trico hatches in the morning with plenty of rising fish to cast to. We found great success using Trico, PMD’s, and Purple Haze flies, sizes 14-18. After lunch, we recommend switching to streamers, a good choice is the Big Hole Crawler.
