One of the most challenging lessons you will need to master when beginning as a fly fisherman is tying a line. While there are a few techniques out there for doing so successfully, one of the simpler methods is to feed it through a loop at the end of the fly line. For a step-by-step demonstration of how to do this, be sure to take a look at the video featured here. As the expert in the video shares, you can either buy a leader with a loop already in place or ask your local fly shop to place a loop in the line.
After tying your fly to the line, the line in front of you should resemble a figure eight. If you have trouble tying your lines or if you have general fishing questions, then be sure to consult with the fishing experts here at Healing Waters Lodge by calling (406) 684-5960.
